Central NSW is a great area to move to but still be reasonably close to a major city, or to take some day trips, weekend getaways or extended holidays.
The most distant Highway West Towns are only around 5 hours from Sydney or Canberra and many areas are only between 1 and a half to 3 and a half hours away.
Using the Interactive Map you can see, visit and learn about the areas that the Highway West Family covers.
The Town Sites provide a circuitous route from the Blue Mountains then through the Central Tablelands, Central, Central West and down to the South West Slopes NSW and back again to the Blue Mountains.

There are 'Town Sites' for all the major centres along the way.

These sites provide information about the major towns as well as their surrounding villages and locations of interest.
The sites highlight the things to do - attractions, activities and major events, provide accommodation, restaurant, business and clubs information as well as transport, community and some history details.
From Sydney travel from Penrith at the western end of the Cumberland Plain and head on up via the Great Western Highway through the Blue Mountains travelling via Katoomba, Blackheath, Mt Victoria and Hartley onto Lithgow.  Some of your highlights might be - The Three Sisters and Echo Point, The Winter Magic Festival each June, Hartley Historic Village or the Zig Zag Railway and the famous Jenolan Caves.
