Most chain problems are caused by three things - incorrect chain tension, incorrect filing, and lack of lubrication.
SAW CHAIN TROUBLESHOOTING - PROBLEMS:

  • Chain cuts slow, cuts rough, or won’t hold an edge
  • Cutters and/or tie straps wear heavily or break
  • Drive links wear heavily or break
  • SHARPENING DRIVE-LINK TANGS
  • Chain has tight joints
  • Chain cuts crooked
